The Noble Beetle was chosen as the 2012 Östgötland Handicraft by the Regional Association Östsam and Visit Östergötland.

The Östgöta Noble Beetle is shaped like a Hermit Beetle (Osmoderma eremita), Östergötland's provincial insect. An important icon for the preservation of biodiversity in general and the beautiful oak meadows in particular.

Consisting of a precious wire soldered into a circle to signify that everything somehow hangs together and has no beginning or end.
Hand-shaped by master goldsmith Veronica Gullbrandson in Ädelsmedjan, each beetle is similar to its species but completely unique, just like us and everything else in nature.
Wear it on your lapel or as a pendant like a scarab, and let it quietly remind you and others that it is the small choices in everyday life that preserve the diversity around us.
