About Ädelsmedjan

Ädelsmedjan is a traditional goldsmith workshop founded in 1997 by master goldsmith Veronica Gullbrandson. Located at the foot of Borgarberget in picturesque Kisa, a visit to us is an experience in itself.

Stroll through Kisa's charming center, enjoy a fika, and visit our authentic workshop in an inspiring turn-of-the-century house. To ensure we are available and can provide personalized service, please book an appointment before your visit.

In addition to custom orders, repairs, reworkings, and exciting trial courses, Veronica handcrafts all jewelry collections in small series.

Inspired by nature, magic, and human behavior, each piece of jewelry carries its own story, all similar yet unique, just like us humans and everything else in nature. A piece of jewelry from Ädelsmedjan strengthens your relationships in the most beautiful way!

Meet Veronica Gullbrandson, Master Goldsmith

Veronica Gullbrandson is a master goldsmith in Kisa, and has built and run Ädelsmedjan since 1997. She received her journeyman's certificate from the Goldsmith School in Mjölby in 1997 and her master's certificate in 2016. With complete mastery of all aspects of the craft, including hand engraving, enameling, and stone setting, Veronica delivers a unique combination of artistic talent and technical perfection: an expertise that can transform a simple vision into timeless jewelry.

Repairs, reworkings, and new creations in close collaboration with customers constitute a large part of Veronica's daily work at Ädelsmedjan. In addition, she creates entirely hand-forged collections of jewelry that are similar yet unique, just like nature's own creations.

Through her craft, Veronica builds an animated jewelry world of flowers, dragons, and insects, where everything becomes a bearer and protector of ideas. Her jewelry is a lasting symbol for strengthening our important human relationships, and can be passed down to strengthen family ties. Slow jewelry at its best!

Among her hand-forged collections are the Birth Flowers, The Companion, and her three-part collier with jewel beetles. Veronica has been awarded by Region Östergötland, where Östgötalåset was named Craft of the Year in 2006 and Ädelbaggen received the same award in 2012.

Forge cats

Veronica is often accompanied by her cats in the smithy; here, the Maine Coon crossbreed Enzo lies in his usual spot by the jeweller's bench.

A jeweller's workbench with the cut-out space for a filing peg and a hide is called a jeweller's bench, and has looked much the same for many hundreds of years.
